Family Dentistry

At Compassionate Dentistry, you’re treated like family. We have painstakingly designed our practice with your entire family’s needs in mind, allowing us to offer dental services to your entire family, from toddlers to grandparents and everyone in between!

We understand that our patients have busy professional and personal lives and that scheduling visits for the whole family can be challenging as well as time-consuming, so we make scheduling a family visit to the dentist’s office a breeze with our family block appointments. Minimizing the need for multiple appointments with a focus on completing treatments in as few visits as possible. Dr. Riechers gives everyone the time and attention needed in order to feel comfortable with care and treatment. This time and attention helps everyone to relax (and even have fun!) during their procedures, as well as ensuring you feel empowered and educated when treatment decisions need to be made.

Kid’s Dentistry

For toddlers and children, Dr. Sara makes the process fun and exciting while educating them on the importance of proper oral hygiene. (Make sure to brush to get rid of those sugar bugs!) It’s not uncommon for parents to hear laughter and giggles during their children’s visits. Dr. Riechers takes the extra time needed with children of all ages and uses age-appropriate terms to help children understand what is going on and what to expect, as well as make it an interesting and enjoyable experience. Going above and beyond for your child’s dental health and mental well-being is what we do. We believe this extra time is necessary in order for the kids to feel comfortable, relaxed, and informed about their dental work and ensures a better experience, making future dental exams all the more smooth.

Prevention

Maintenance of oral health is essential, and we here at Compassionate Dentistry work to ensure our patients have all the tools and tips necessary for healthy dental outcomes. Cavity prevention and gum care lead to more than just a winning smile. Poor oral health has been linked to several chronic diseases, like diabetes and heart disease. Check out our blog for some great articles about dental care and prevention.  But when you do slip a bit on your regular teeth cleaning routine, our gentle, experienced hygienists will keep you comfortable during your procedure. We use dental hygienist techniques such as ultrasonic scaling, hand scaling, and polishing to clean your teeth, and never forget to examine the health of your gum tissue.

Sedation

It’s natural for someone to have anxiety about the unknown or when remembering past pain or negative dental experiences. However, avoiding dental care because of anxiety may end up causing more stress, pain, and health issues when something simple like a small cavity or inflamed gums go unchecked. Dr. Riechers offers three options for dental sedation: nitrous oxide, oral medication, and nitrous oxide combined with oral medication. These options can be combined with local anesthesia (numbing) to relieve pain and anxiety. We’ll work with you to determine the best course of action based on your needs and the procedure at hand.

Tooth Restoration

While prevention is central to our dental philosophy, Dr. Sara Riechers and her staff understand that damage to teeth or gums because of wear, trauma, or oral disease is common, so our dental team has many tools and techniques at our disposal to restore and maintain the appearance and functionality of teeth and keep gums healthy while relieving pain. Restorative dentistry focuses on repairing or replacing damaged or missing teeth. These procedures help improve oral health and function. Common dental restorations include crowns, bridges, and implants. You may need restorative dentistry if you have untreated cavities that have led to tooth decay, damaged or broken teeth, or missing teeth.

Tooth Replacement

Missing teeth compromise your smile and your ability to eat and speak clearly. The roots of your teeth also keep your jaw bone strong and healthy for a fuller facial appearance. In some cases, teeth with heavy damage are not able to be restored, and teeth that are removed or missing need to be replaced – options for replacement include dental implants, bridges, and dentures. Dental implants look, feel, and function so much like a natural tooth that most patients forget which one is the implant! Gums that have serious infections or are receding may need special treatments or surgery to prevent loose teeth from being infected, falling out, or needing removal.
